In the 70s and 80s, skateboarding began rising in popularity so, skaters needed to find proper gear for their sport. They would often resort to old basketball sneakers, including the Nike Blazer, Dunk, and even Air Jordan 1, because of the higher cut which in theory provided more protection for the foot and ankle. Upon Nike entering the skateboarding market with the SB umbrella in the early 2000s, they began adapting older silhouettes like the Blazer and Dunk for skaters needs. Here’s an iteration of the blazer in a bright blue-ish green suede with yellow accents. They come with a second set of white laces too.
