Nike "When In Doubt, Waffle Pin.  If your not familiar with the Waffle bottom it was created by Bill Bowerman the Oregon Ducks running coach.  He wanted to make his team faster so he came up with the design and actually used a waffle iron as a mold.  Its one of the earliest Nike stories.
